It's kind of ironic that I would say that you are wasting your time meditating since I am a big proponent of meditation. But the truth is that what most consider meditation is nothing more than a twenty minute relaxation period. What are you really getting out of your meditation? Are you experiencing any earth shattering revelations? Are you opening up the window to your soul and letting in the fresh air of understanding? Not likely.
More times than not you are meditating because you know that it is good for you, or you were told that it is good for you, and yet you really don't know why or what you are supposed to feel. Where is the experience of bliss? Where is the enlightening experience?
Is there a chance that you are meditating wrong?
There is a better way to meditate and technology is now confirming ways that will accelerate your experience in ways that you can quantify and experience for yourself.
Without getting into all the details about how it works I'll just tell you why it works and what it does. I will leave it up to you to decide if you are ready to experience more from your meditations or do you just want to relax for a few minutes.
When someone meditates, using any kind of meditation, their brain starts to do several things on a physical level. One of the things it starts to do is synchronize the left and right hemispheres. When these hemispheres synchronize the meditator begins to enter deep, relaxing states. This also aids in quieting the brain, promotes new neural growth and generally allows for greater brain functioning.
Now, this is only slightly significant because it's only happening in the brain. Remember the previous post I made about the man with no brain? The true benefits of meditation occur once you get beyond the brain, which is something not many meditation program do!
Most meditation programs work only on a physical level and leave you there to fend for yourself. They don't know how to take you to that next level. They don't give you the tools you need to take your meditation beyond the physical and take you into the extraordinary.
It can take a traditional meditator many months, if not longer, to really condition the brain to maintain these extended states. this post has really helped in my understanding more of my meditation. I have heard much of this new technology and how it seems to work wanders, but i have not yet found a place that i can download these sounds. Can you help me find them please, that would be so great. thanks!
