The open readings will address a more large aspect of a persons life rather than any specific problem question. These are mostly done if you are getting into a newer phase of your life, like getting a divorce, starting a new career, or trying to start up a family of your own. You should be able to direct these readings only if you have a certain area that you wish to cover, like your new career or any love relationships, but this is about as specific as it can get.
