What is the Point of Spiritual Development?
We use all different types of methods to help improve who we are. We exercise and we read and we think about who we are on the earth and try to grow in our lives. A very good way to learn to grow is through spiritual development. Doing spiritual exercises like downloadable meditations helps us to teach our higher selves or subconscious, invaluable lessons. Through the hundreds of development circles with guided meditations we have been privileged to be part of and run , we have seen how as a person learns to communicate better and with the correct boundaries with spirit, they also learn to do the same with people on the earth.
A great example of this is when one of our students told us that when she was in her 50’s, every time she had tried to link with spirit they would over shadow her so strongly they would start to take some control over her until she pushed them away very strongly to keep them at bay. This made her feel very afraid! After we had witnessed this for ourselves, we asked her several questions and taught her where spirit should communicate with her from. We gave her the boundaries of how to communicate safely and confidently with spirit and within a few weeks she was able to link with spirit in a spiritual growth exercise and not get over shadowed. As we got to know her we learned she had also begun to do the same things in her life, having boundaries and not letting anyone overstep them. Before learning how to deal with spirit she had always said yes to anything anyone had asked of her. She had in some way also learned that she can say no to those people around her with out feeling guilty. She had learned confidence and self respect with her spiritual development and in her personal life.
So there is much to be gained in spiritual development as long as you realise it is just another form of self empowerment.
