Your Meditation How To
Learning how to meditate is the same idea among many different cultures and religions. This holds true in most parts of meditation, from planning your meditation session to using the right posture, the best time to meditate, choosing the right place to meditate and recognizing our emotions and thoughts. When you are just learning how to meditate don't worry too much about every little thing. It will take effort and the will to experience an enlightening and joyful meditation as you begin to unfold the many layers that define who you think you are and experience the wonderful benefits of meditation. It is important that you learn how to meditate the right way to get the most from your meditation experience.
Choose Your Environment
The best place to meditate is one where you won't be distracted and can spend time alone without distractions and noise. The best place to meditate would be a room in your house that gives you a positive and joyful feeling. Do not overly concern yourself with finding the perfect spot it will come in time and as you continue to use the same meditation area you will be altering the energy of that spot so that it will hold the energy you are emanating. Very soon you will be able to reach much deeper meditative states and your meditation area will continue to absorb and reflect your energy
When To Meditate
It's a great idea to pick a consistent time each day to meditate. The morning would be a great time to meditate, before you have been inundated with your daily stresses. Our daily responsibilities put us under a lot of stress and the demands make it harder for us to have a good meditation when we try to sit and relax. If you want your day to be more joyful and relaxing be consistent with your morning meditations.
A Meditation Plan
When learning how to meditate it's necessary to have a good plan. To have a productive meditation it is a good idea to be in the right state of mind. If you come home from a hard day of work and then just sit right down and meditate you will spend the whole meditation trying to relax your mind. Your meditation would be more productive if you went for a walk to help you unwind first. If you are tired than maybe you can take a cool shower or even an energizing fresh fruit drink. Learning how to meditate in this way is intelligent, and being honest with ourselves will help prepare the mind and the body for a productive and relaxing meditation.
Proper Meditation Posture
The best position is to be seated with a straight back. You can sit in either a chair with a straight back or on the floor on a cushion. Imagine yourself as one with the surface you are sitting on and let the energy pass through your body from the floor to the top of your head. Envision an invisible cord attached to your head, which is pulling your body upright. This will provide a channel for the energy to flow through as it journeys up your spine and out through your head
Place your hands on you thighs and relax your fingers letting go of all the tension in your arms and hands. Relax your jaw as you tuck your chin towards your chest. Place your tongue to the roof of your mouth or up against the upper teeth with you mouth open ever so slightly. Focus your gaze with half opened eyes, seeing but not really noticing anything. Control you awareness and picture yourself in a trance-like state. Same thing with any noises you hear, just let them flow away without any conscious recognition. They become a background symphony for the experience of the meditation, having no more significance than the background noises we hear and ignore all day long.
Working with the Breath
When you begin to learn how to meditate you will notice that your mind is moving wildly from thought to thought as our minds struggle to gain control once again. By focusing on your breath you will learn to let go of these thoughts. Focus your awareness on counting your breaths. As you breathe deep into your belly and then breathe out this will be a count of one. Begin by counting a series of 15 to 20 breaths, this should be long enough to help you to silence your monkey mind. A good visualization would be to picture breathing in prana energy and breathing out stress and tension. Prana is the life force of God. Learn to tap into the universal source of energy by imagining breathing in prana energy.
Rejoice in the Benefits Of Meditation.
You are reaching that place within where you are in control of your body and thoughts. That state of being where you are no longer controlled by your mind or outside forces. You begin to realize what it's like to be in control of your fate and only accept peace and goodness in your life. A level of consciousness that shows you that you are more than you think you are. All your former illusions of self are now breaking down and you are on a journey to discover the truly divine being you are.
Enjoy learning how to meditate and as you start your quest it would be a good idea to get instructions from a well-regarded practitioner that will give you the support and teachings you need to succeed.
Use these meditation techniques everyday for the best possible results.
