Wouldn’t it be great if you could just wake up in the morning, take a shower, get dressed and put on your self-confidence?
No More Low Self Confidence
Well, if you don’t have a closet full of self-confidence, then here are four easy to use strategies to help you improve your feelings of low self-confidence.
1. Be your own best friend
Regardless of the outcome, the trick is to be your own best friend. Try something new today. Something you have always been afraid to do. Whether it turned out well or not is irrelevant, the fact that you tried it is what matters. Give yourself a pat on the back and tell yourself ‘Great Effort”. At least you tried something new!
Concentrate on the effort it took you to do something new and don’t think about what the outcome will be. We are all limited in one way or another so don’t worry about it. The trick is to accept your limitations and not focus on them. Hey, we all have shortcomings.
2. Release your fear
When you are about to try something new, does you low self confidence cause you to worry so much about the outcome that there is no way you can follow through? Change the way you look at things. Release your fear and look at these new things in your life as an opportunity to learn something. Let it open up the possibility for you to overcome your low self-confidence and excel at something.
If you spend your time fearing the result, you’ll turn any chance there might have been for you to succeed into a failure. There’s no way you can grow when you are consumed by fear all the time. Stop setting yourself up for failure. There is nothing to fear but fear itself.
3. Control your Thoughts
Pay attention to your inner voice. We all constantly chatter to ourselves. The key is to pay attention to your thoughts and what you are telling yourself. If you find you are having negative thoughts then immediately stop your flow of thoughts. These negative thoughts are fueling your low self-confidence. Replace these negative thoughts with some positive affirmations. Tell yourself you are worthy and self-confident. Most of what goes on in our heads are an illusion anyway.
We constantly program our reality by the assumptions we make in our minds.
Accept the fact that you are not perfect and as far as I know nobody else is either. Give yourself a break and start filling your mind with positive and productive thoughts starting today.
4. Don’t worry about what someone else thinks
If you are always concerned about how someone else views you then you are defining yourself by what you think others think about you. You are taking away your personal power and increasing your low self-confidence.
Find out who the real you is. Look inside and see that you are no different then anyone else. We are all unique and powerful in our own way. You don’t need to rely on the acceptance of someone else to make you feel good about yourself.
When you can get to this point you will begin to realize the abject futility of relying on someone else for your happiness and fulfillment. You will start to develop a strong sense of self and accomplishment, which will be very empowering.
This is going to be a process and you must accept that your low self-confidence will not go away over night. The key is to take it one day at a time and don’t be afraid of failure.
You are a beautiful and unique human being who has just as much right as anyone else to enjoy your life and experience the pleasures it has to offer.
Say goodbye to your low self-confidence forever….
