2010 Buddhist Calendar
Who decided that this should be the year 2010?

I've done a bit of research and it looks like 2010 is based on the birth of Jesus Christ, meaning our entire calendar system is based on Christianity, one religion.

Is this the only reason why it's 2010 today? If so, why have all people across the world (atheists, Buddhists, Jews, Muslims) adopted this Christian reference date?

it is for the simple reason of avoiding confusion. But this is not the only Calendar in existence. there is Hindu Calendar called Samvat and hte muslim Calendar called Hijri Calendar and many others
